According to the dictionary, Armadillos are nocturnal, with large claws for digging. We've suspected that one or more live under our shed, but we never see them. The other afternoon this armadillo was seen ambling down our street. When I grabbed my camera he took off like a shot — who knew they could move so fast. I had my zoom lens on the camera, and I was able to get this photo as he (or she) tried to get away from me as fast as possible.
