Northport PhotoWalk Saturday…

This Saturday, July 18, is the WorldWide Photo Walk, and I am thrilled to be leading a walk in Northport Village. I thought I'd share a few Northport photos to set the mood.

The Northport PhotoWalk participants are meeting at the Gazebo at 9:30 A.M.

The plan is to start off with a group photo at the Gazebo, then spend some time taking photos in the park, on the dock, and at the Farmers' Market.

We will then take a walk on Bayview Avenue to photograph some of the historic homes.

For anyone who want to take make an up-hill hike, there is an outstanding view of Long Island Sound from the James Steet bluff. We will finish the walk on Main Street, Northport's business district.

(Did you know that the Shipwreck Diner was featured in the 1997 Kevin Kline movie, In & Out.)

After taking photos on Main Steet we will meet at the picnic tables outside Copenhagen Bakery on Woodbine Avenue. When I told Fleming Hansen, the bakery owner, about the walk, he immediately offered a 20% discount to all participants. If you stop in for coffee and a roll before the walk, or for a take-out lunch after, be sure to identify yourself to get your discount.

For those who want to stay around for a while, we can take a look at some of the photos on our camera's LCD screens, have some lunch, and get to know each other. This is going to be fun!
